What we’re about
Altered clubbing for gay, bi and straight queers.
The idea behind ‘bollox’ is to provide a club night with a completely different music policy and atmosphere to other nights in Manchester, particularly the ones on the gay scene.
As well as the main dance floor we also have a basement space which is an experimental area for other queer promoters, collaborators, artists, performers and bands. If you want to use this space then get in touch with us, we’re always interested in trying new things whilst offering a platform for queer talent in the North West. Some things work, some don’t – it doesn’t matter, just get out there and do something.
What music will you get to hear?
It’s quite simple really – the bollox music policy is GOOD POP MUSIC, whether that be pop music played with distorted guitars courtesy of Sonic Youth or trashy Korg synths courtesy of Ladytron, it really doesn’t matter; as long as it sounds good and makes your hips move – we’ll probably play it.
Beard strokers
Music purists be warned, as much as we love alternative music we’re not too far up our own arses to appreciate a good quality pop tune; that’s why Girls Aloud, Bananarama and Britney fight for space on the dancefloor with the likes of the Gossip, The Pixies and Peaches.
